This year's Festival features a stellar lineup that includes literary sensations Sherri D Wilson & Ivan Coyote, Quebecois performance-phenom Nathalie Claude, Montreal's Lesbians on Ecstasy, and an entire programme of New York City artists.


Now in its fourth incarnation, HYSTERIA has become one of Buddies in Bad Times Theatre's most eagerly anticipated events. Over a ten-day period Buddies plays host to rapid-fire succession of events ranging from a visual art display and performance installations to eclectic lineups featuring dance, film, music, spoken word and theatre performances.


In just three years HYSTERIA has showcased more than two hundred artists, and this year is as bountiful as ever. Just some of the amazing women featured in this year's lineup are: musical acts Lesbians on Ecstasy (Montreal) and Rae Spoon (Calgary), literary sensations Sherri D Wilson (Calgary) and Ivan Coyote (Vancouver), dance artists Allison Cummings and Susan Lee, comediennes Rebecca Northan and Teresa Pavlinek, performance artists Joanna Householder and Anita Ponton (UK) and theatre artists Nathalie Claude, Toni Elwand, Marcia Johnson and more.


In programming this year's HYSTERIA, Festival Director Moynan King has amassed a splendid line-up of women from across North America and beyond. Of particular note, this year's festival will feature a strong connection with New York's artistic community with NYC's bravest and boldest female artists appearing on a Buddies' stage for NEW YORK CITY INVASION, curated by Jess Dobkin, featuring Felice Shays, Staceyann Chin, Susana Cook and Jennifer Miller.


Back this year are Hysteria favourites STRANGE SISTERS, Buddies' infamous sexy lesbian cabaret and MASS HYSTERIA, hosted by The Black Roses. 2007 HYSTERIA will also feature the return of Montreal artists Nathalie Claude (performing a new solo) and Les Walkyries.


Other must-see out-of-towners include a presentation of west coast stars Ivan Coyote and Rae Spoon's exciting new collaboration YOU ARE HERE.
